a word of caution: watch for ice.

late last week i looked at my weather widget. it said that it was going to snow later that week. that entire week it was freezing cold, but there were crystal blue skies. i didn't believe the said widget. even saturday the skies were perfectly clear. but alas, it started snowing sunday morning, or maybe the night before. trust your weather widgets. they never lie. there is so much snow outside. there is a good five inches on the ground, if not more. the sidewalks are slick, and the floors inside the buildings are even more. last year i didn't fall once during the season of slipping and bruises on your hips. of course, there were a couple close calls; times where i had no control over where or what my body was doing. arms flailing, legs...flailing, and even subtle cries of fear escaped my mouth. in the end, i always corrected these strange movements; i attribute this to my ice skating class and the many hard falls i took on that skating rink (but it being ice skating, you are expected to fall, whereas outside, walking to campus: that is just pure humiliation). anyways, having stated that i haven't fallen yet, i fully expect to have jinxed myself. i feel like it is coming for me. i think it is going to be a big one. involving many people watching me...say maybe the JFSB quad or brigham square? as i sit here in the library, waiting for my next class in the JKB, i fear that i am going to slip and fall on my way there. or maybe those random patches on campus that i see everybody walk through and their foot slides, and i wonder why they walk right through it rather than walk around that spot. or maybe on that hill that i have to go down on the way home (who's smart idea was it to put campus on a hill?). or maybe on the painted part of the sidewalk that always seems to be more slippery when it is wet/snowy...

i must be cautious. no slipping for me.

Panoramas

I LOVED having a Photoshop Trial on my computer, I am going to miss it.
It expires in 3 days.
I will probably try to download another trial, just as soon as this one runs out, as to maximize my free-photoshop-using-time.

I think my favorite part is the panoramas that I have been able to piece together, from pictures that I have taken throughout the years, mostly from this summer, but some from a LONG time ago.

I wish I knew how to do more things on photoshop, I could spend countless hours on it, and still not ever be bored.

Hey Mom

Look what I did to my hair.

Homemade Raviolli

Jamie and I had been looking at cooking blogs for a long time one day in the library. Jamie and I thought we would be nice and make dinner for the roommates, friends, and some family one Sunday.

Jamie and I thought we would be reeeeeaaaaallly ambitious and make homemade ravioli. HOMEMADE RAVIOLI. Without a noodle press.

All in all, dinner turned out pretty well. We had a butternut squash bisque and breadsticks (thanks Katie), followed by mushroom, sage raviolis and a sausage and parmesan pasta. Yum.

...wish we had photos of the completed project, or the friends we shared it with. Alas, after 4 hours of frantic cooking, we weren't ready to do anything but eat.

Vegas Baby

Last weekend Melissa and I went down to Vegas with the roomies, good ole' Beckster and The Hatchinator. It all started with a HORRIBLY long drive on Friday afternoon (Becky continued to tell me that it was 30-mins away while I sat carsick and moaning in the backseat...for 4 hours), but the rest of the trip was a nice 3-part adventure.

We started on The Strip. Why not? We walked up and down at an incredible rate so as to not be out too late--pretty sure it was record time. Bellagio fountains=our favorite. Obvs. We watched 5 shows and sat there for over an hour.

The next day: Hoover Dam. Huge dam. Bigger photo opportunity.

Dam Roomie Pic + One giant.

Dam Butt Pic.Dam Giddy Pic.Turns out Hoover Dam and I have the same b-day. Who would have thought? Party theme, anyone?

Lastly--the reason for the trip--the UNLV vs BYU football game. Our seats were AMAZING! Just a few rows from the 20 yard line. We could actually see the players and the ball. We love BYU football.

Ra Ra ra ra ra. Ra Ra ra ra ra. GOOOOO COUGARS!

Sorry Miss. You decided to blink in the only roomie shot of the night.

So long geology. It has been swell.

That pretty much captures it all.

LOVE BLOCK CLASSES!

Last day of geology and Melissa and I can't wait!

Oh yeah?!

Emily frequently like to show off the fun times that her kids are having at museums and frolicking and basically having fun. Meanwhile, we are at school, doing boring things like learning and taking tests.

Well, Melissa and I would like to show you how we can have fun at museums, frolicking, and having fun as well.

So there.
